First Responders
Sensitivity Training Canada has a track record of successfully serving Police Services, Law Enforcement, Security, Paramedics, Firefighters and other first responding organizations. Through listening to our clients we have learned that the nature of your work is psychologically challenging in light of its unique dynamics.
Our facilitators are specifically trained to help leaders in your organization manage their own interactions and keep the work environment psychologically safe for all, one that is free from discrimination, bullying, and harassment. We have experience working with Leaders, Support Staff, and unions of first responding organizations in several cities from coast, to coast, to coast!
The daily intense stressors faced by First Responders are generally quite different from those experienced by their broader public sector colleagues. First Responders are often the first to see devastation, trauma, and loss. As a result, some suffer post-traumatic stress. If this is the case, after treatment when they are ready to be re-integrated into the workplace our facilitators can provide workplace awareness training to help support their re-entry.

Conflict in hospitals and other healthcare work environments can result from (i) interactions of Interprofessional teams, (ii) colleagues in the same profession, or (iii) healthcare workers and patients or patients’ families.
Healthcare is characterised by urgent life-changing demanding situations and high expectations, these factors are often made more challenging because of ongoing staffing and resource limitations. Regardless of the underlying cause of discord, Sensitivity Training Canada can help by transforming the mindsets, attitudes, and workstyles that resulted in the inappropriate behaviour or language at work.
We are experienced at providing one-on-one (1:1) training and also group training with physicians, doctors from variety of professions, allied healthcare providers, including teams in hospital as well as private practice settings. Our extensive sensitivity training experience also extends to working with unions as well as regulatory colleges for various healthcare professions.

While this involves Faculty and academic administrators, it also extends to other educational leaders such as those who work in human resources, marketing, student services, campus security, finance, information technology, and facilities management.
